We are in shock this morning upon hearing that Mandisa has gone to be with Jesus. May the Lord comfort her family…and all of us that love and treasure her. Mandisa’s songs like “Overcomer” and “Stronger” have met us in some of the hardest places. We are honoring her by sharing stories of how her music touched lives.
How we Remember:
- 11 years ago I played Mandisa’s song Stronger before EVERY cancer treatment. I would sing the song in my head during the treatments and I got through each session with a grateful heart. Recently I found out I’m in a similar situation and started playing Stronger everytime I get down. She is home in heaven. – Leann
- The line her in song ‘no matter whatever it is you’re going through he’s not gonna let it get the best of you’ always reminded me that God has such a good plan for my life and my daughters” – Olivia
- Praying for comfort and peace for Mandisa’s family. Praise God I look forward to meeting her in Heaven. The words from one of her songs you just played helped me tremendously when I was overwhelmed with family trials. I truly felt the waves were taking me under! I understood at that moment that the Lord would reach out and bring me out I would not drown in my troubles. – Kika
- I had just been unexpectedly laid off from my job and starting my car to go home to somehow tell my family the bad news, when Mandesa’s “Overcomer” song came on the radio. That song reassured me that God is in control, which gave me courage and hope. God is faithful and I later found a new job. Praying for peace to everyone in Mandisa’s passing. – Scott
