Maria
For the fourth miracle, we went out to Lynden to visit a single mother named Maria. Maria is a CNA with four kids— three teenage boys and one teenage girl. She works night shifts at the hospital and is always sure to be home early enough in the morning to get her kids off to school. Her sister Anna nominated her because she is so proud of how hard she works to provide for her kids and always does it with a smile on her face. Anna let us know of some of the practical needs Maria and her family needed before we visited them. We purchased the boys each a puffy winter jacket and bought a pedicure gift certificate for Maria and her daughter. We also brought them a basket full of toiletries and other hygiene and house cleaning supplies—the items that are never fun to have to buy! Included in the basket were restaurant gift cards and a family game for them to play after they go out to dinner!
