Science is finally “proving” what God’s been telling us all along. A study at the University of Utah states, “Gratitude lessens stress, anxiety, and depression. Participants who felt grateful showed a reduction in the level of cortisol, the stress hormone. They had stronger cardiac functioning and were more resilient to emotional setbacks and negative experiences.”
It’s no wonder there are many verses in the Bible that exhort us to be thankful, give praise, and worship the Lord. One of these is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, which says …
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
It is God’s will for you to Praise Him Anywhere because it brings life and health to you. Do you know why? Because God is worthy of our praise – anywhere, anytime, in any situation! When we praise Him, we are acknowledging who He is and who we are as His child, which always clears the fog of unbelief and renews our hope.
I challenge you today to write down three things you are thankful for! Say them aloud to the Lord. Do it again tomorrow. And the day after that. And keep going. Turn on PRAISE 106.5 and sing along. Get up and move to the music. Give God all the praise He deserves! Trust Jesus that when you obey His command to be thankful, you will feel joy!
