Harold Zelt, a cherished long-time resident of White Rock, transformed his hobby of photographing local dogs into a beloved calendar series. Beginning in 2020, the “Dogs of White Rock” calendar quickly became a community favorite, with proceeds benefiting the BC SPCA’s education and adoption programs in Surrey. Harold recently passed away at the age of 97, but his son is honoring his legacy by carrying on the tradition with a new photo shoot in July, resulting in the fifth edition of the calendar.
