Brant:
This is so awesome and maybe you’ve heard this, but I want to unpack it a little bit. Like, why is this so awesome? So little League pitcher, little league World series. He’s on tv. I mean, you can imagine what an overwhelming moment that is. And he’s losing control. He is walking people. Well, his dad is the coach and his dad walks out to the mound and here’s what he says. So, this is on national tv. They happen to have the coach mic’d. So here’s what happened in this pitching mound visit. Maybe you can hear this
Pitcher’s Dad:
Came out to tell you how much I love you. As a dad and a player, okay? You’re doing awesome out here. One more hitter and then I’m going to Jude. This is your last hitter. Okay? Understand? Come right after him. Hey, cheer up. Have some fun. Come right after him. Okay? Let’s go.
Brant:
Alright, pat on the head. He walks back to the dugout. Wow. Okay, so the announcer’s like, wow, we got chills from that. Why? It’s so great. I think we all kind of get this, but we all want to hear that. I want to hear that. Think about what he just said. Here’s a guy struggling in front of everybody. Think about this in your own life, feeling like I’m not performing up to what I should be doing. Everybody’s watching me. I’m falling short. People are disappointed in me. My dad’s the coach. He’s disappointed. I’m out here blowing it. Everybody’s watching. Think about that in your own life, and then to have a loving Father speak into your life and go, Hey, I just want you to know I love you and you’re doing great. You just get one more hitter, have fun, and then pat you on the head. Like in your own life. There’s not that much left, really. It goes fast. You’re doing great. I just want you to know I love you. See you later. Man, I love that.
