Brant:
If you’re sitting down and you’re doing Christmas cards or you’re on social media and you’re doing Merry Christmas from your family name…
Sherri:
Why are we doing this again? I’m sorry. Go ahead.
Brant:
I feel a need to do it again because people are still using apostrophes. You don’t have to. Let me free you from that. To pluralize your last name, we’ve had people follow up. I just talked about this. People are like, yeah, but we do. We hear what you’re saying, but we have to because our last name is the Hesses.
Sherri:
So they should be H-E-S-S apostrophe S.
Brant:
No, you don’t.
Sherri:
Okay.
Brant:
Don’t use apostrophe. It’s just add an e-s. Okay. So for the Hesses. Also, the Fritzes says, We have to. No, you don’t. It’s E-S
Sherri:
Fritzes. F-R-I-T-Z…?
Brant:
E-S
Sherri:
E-S. That can’t be right.
Brant:
It is the Sanderses. They were wondering about it. Don’t use the apostrophe. Also the Philipses. The Davises and the Manns asked about this. No, you don’t. You don’t have to.
Sherri:
The Philipses?
Brant:
The Laetosses said, Well, we have to. No, you don’t. Also, Derosses. Sellers. Casses.
Sherri:
Okay.
Brant:
Appreciate hearing from the Peterses saying we have to, but you don’t either. You just add an e-s, and then that is it.
Sherri:
Alright.
Brant:
You’re welcome you guys.
Sherri:
Thank you. Thanks.
Brant:
So the general rule, if you’re following, don’t do it. You don’t need an apostrophe you guys.
