For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
God, our Creator, is the ultimate artist. Every part of creation and every person He creates reflects who He is and is designed to give Him glory.
When God created you, He made you on purpose, for a purpose. That means every detail of your personality, inherent gifts and talents, interests, and ways of interacting with the world are His intentional design. Along with those, God planned specific things for you to do that bring great satisfaction because they fit with who you are. As you live for Him, He brings those things to your attention. All you have to do is act on them.
With so many choices in life, finding out what God has planned for us to do may seem mysterious, but it doesn’t have to be. First, live the way God says to in the Bible. Through alignment with Biblical teaching, and through the wisdom of people in your community of believers God will reveal more of his plan for you. Then, look at the opportunities to follow Him that appear in front of you.
Are you a musician? Try out for the worship band at church. Do you love to make people feel welcome? Join the hospitality team and greet people. Is your heart aching for the homeless? Volunteer at a shelter. The list is endless.
What stirs your heart and where you see a need that you want to meet? As you do that, something else will open up, and soon you’ll find yourself with a very full and purposeful life!
PRAYER: God, thank you that you created me on purpose for a purpose. Show me what that is and help me give you glory by living the life You have for me and being completely who You made me to be. I love you, Lord. Amen.
