We love watching how the community is coming together to help during all the flooding. Here are a few ways we found you can participate. If you aren’t able to give financially or participate in these ways, anyone and everyone can pray!
- Whatcom Strong is a Website dedicated to flood relief. You can find easy ways to volunteer, request help and find updates!
- Samaritan’s Purse is accepting requests and providing relief. Contact them at 360-305-2175 to volunteer or visit spvolunteer.org
- Puget Sound Energy added $15,000 to the match pool. As a result, anyone who donates to the Whatcom Community Foundation’s Resilience Fund this week will have their gift up to a combined total of $115,000 matched, dollar for dollar.
- Red Barn Market will be donating some of their proceeds to the people directly misplaced due to the flood.
- City of Ferndale need blankets, food, bottled waters, cots, air mattresses, paper plates, & plastic utensils, charging cords for cell phones, pet carriers/food/supplies, pillows, and sheets. They need volunteers to help at the shelters in shifts and overnight. There will be two overnight shelters in place: West Side: Ferndale High School Cafeteria located at 5830 Golden Eagle Dr. Ferndale WA 98248 Contact Kate Bishop at 360-325-2017
- For those who need a meal, Christ Lutheran Church 5904 Vista Drive, Ferndale, WA 98248, is now serving soup and sandwiches. If you need further assistance, please call Ferndale City Hall at 360-384-4006
- North County Christ the King in Lynden is taking financial donations at http://buff.ly/3akCxTb choose Care ministry under giving type.
- Sonlight Church in Lynden is open for shelter, and they have chili for anyone who shows up 8800 Bender Rd, Lynden WA 98264
- Calvary Chapel Northwest distributing food and working with Manna for food and who to give it to.
- Manna Insurance Group is donating to families, needs are towels, pillowcases, cots, sleeping bags, clothes, underwear, socks, baby formula, diapers, wipes, shampoo, diaper cream, flashlights, batteries (AA and C or D) candle, matches, laundry bags, and much much more. Deliveries are made at 12 & 4:45pm tomorrow. If you feel comfortable driving big trucks to Everson Elementary, please let Manna know. Bring supplies to Mannas Fairway Location.
