This week’s Gold Star Teacher is Michelle Stang, from Cedarhome Elementary School!
- Nominated by Alisa James:
“Michelle Stang loves her students. There is no better way to put it. She wants every individual to succeed, improve, and grow. As an elementary school teacher, she does more than teach – she mentors, and inspires, and has fun! Michelle isn’t afraid to participate in school assembly skits, dress up for spirit days, or get involved in the games at field day. God gave Michelle a gift for teaching, and she is living out that gift and following her calling every day. This past summer, Michelle became sick and one of her first concerns was that she was going to miss the first week of school with her students. She spent all of August preparing her classroom so that even though she couldn’t be there, her students would smile when they walked in to a fully prepared, Garfield themed classroom. Michelle would say that her students are a blessing in her life, but I would say that she is just as much a blessing in theirs.”
- Nominated by Anna Poetzl:
“Mrs. Stang is one of those teachers who goes above and beyond to make sure each student is recognized as an individual. All three of our children have had her as their 4th Grade teacher and we have been so grateful for her dedication and positive energy. Two of our children had reading fluency issues, and Mrs. Stang immediately identified their needs and addressed them with creative and helpful resources. Mrs. Stang also has an epic Garfield collection and the kids love taking Garfield home to journal about or have him join them on field trips! Mrs. Stang is the best 4th grade teacher and we are thrilled to nominate her for the Gold Teacher reward!”
We are thankful for Mrs. Stang and teachers just like her that go above and beyond to make the classroom experience exciting and fun. Thank you for all that you do!
